Can Singapore citizens apply for the DTV visa at Thai embassies outside of Singapore, and what documents are required?

Has any Singapore citizen (Singapore passport holder) succesfully applied for the DTV visa in another Thai embassy (eg Yangon, Jakarta, Taipei or Laos)? If yes where did you apply and what are the documents needed? Thank you šŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several Singapore citizens have successfully applied for the DTV visa at various Thai embassies including in Jakarta. One individual mentioned their application in Mexico required specific documentation including a company registration from ACRA and a DBS bank statement verified by the Singapore embassy. It's noted that documentation requirements can vary by consulate, so applicants are advised to check the specific requirements on the relevant consulate's website. Additionally, while Singapore nationals typically do not pay for most Thai visas, the DTV visa does incur a fee.

Ok will explore the option of applying (workation) at either PP or HCMC later this year. Will update if I do and what happens.

I have seen a post where a Singaporean has managed to get their DTV in Jakarta. For myself who is a Singaporean passport holder have tried to apply in Mexico. They came back to me telling me that I have to have my company registration from ACRA and my DBS bank statement to be verified by the SG embassy here. They did not mention anything about me being Singaporean.

thanks, that is interesting to know

the documentation is consulate specific šŸ˜• go to the website of the consulate you're thinking of applying at, READ their requirements šŸ™‚

Even though Singaporean nationals have a deal worked out with thailand where they don't pay for visas no matter what thai consulate they apply at, unless I'm mistaken you DO pay for a DTV..

I'm also an EP holder and currently looking to apply for the DTV visa. May I ask if you submitted your application online and then went to the Thai embassy in Singapore to submit the documents? If you applied online, could you please share the website link with me? I've tried several websites, but I can't find the application page. The only one I found,

yes that is correct, we were informed that Singaporean passport holder can NOT apply for the DTV in Singapore. I am wondering if anyone applied at another Thai Embassy successfully before making a trip. I am happy to pay for the Visa, thats not an issue.

Anonymous participant Seriously? That's a bit weird. I'm an EP holder and able to apply in Singapore. But choosing not to since the requirements seem somewhat more painful.

you are a Singapore resident, but not a Singaporean passport holder. You can apply in Singapore. My questions relates to Singaporean nationals only.

Anonymous participant Yes I got that. I was saying it's weird that as a passport holder you can't apply in SG.

Anonymous participant yep, the thai consulate in Singapore won't sell the DTV because they couldn't hash out with MFA what to do

Other consulates used to give singaporean passport holders tourist visas free or single entry Non-Imm visas but I don't think they were handing out year/multi-Non-Imm visas free. I think people had to pay for those like everyone

I think they'd just charge you BUT I sure would call around before I went to a consulate, maybe they won't sell them either because of that "free visa reciprocal agreement between Singapore & Thailand"

Wait, what? Really? So the Thai embassy in SG doesn't sell the DTV to SG passport holders? So Singapore citizens have to go to a third country to apply at the Thai missions there? I mean, on the embassy's website (in SG) I saw they stated that "Applicantā€™s long-term pass (Employment Pass, S Pass etc.) must upload both front and back of the pass." is a requirement but there's no mention of NRIC which I thought was weird. So is this the reason? That the DTV in SG is only for non-SG citizens?? That's very crucial information! Glad I found this thread!!

@Mun ****
because of visa free agreement between both countries. So a Singaporean passport holder should not be paying any fees accordingly to the agreement, however Thailand would like to charge for the visa. So both countries are still ironing out the details.

yes this is what we are worried. That we go to another Thai embassy and they will not issued a DTV to Singaporean. Therefore hoping some Singaporean who has applied successfully is reading my post and replies.

Anonymous participant hopefully one will respond back.

I know several non-singaporean passport holders who got their DTV's from the thai consulate in Singapore but no singaporeanz šŸ˜•
