Why can't Singapore passport holders apply for the DTV visa at the Thai embassy in Singapore?

Not sure how many people this would be relevant to here, but DTV for Singaporeans at the embassy in Singapore is still not happening yet.

From what I understand from the broken Thai English, Thailand and Singapore have a bilateral agreement to waive all visa fees, but they have not agreed on anything with DTV. So, ironically, Singapore passport holders can't apply for DTV in Singapore.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Currently, Singapore passport holders are unable to apply for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) at the Thai embassy in Singapore, despite a bilateral agreement between Thailand and Singapore waiving visa fees. There seems to be a lack of agreement specifically regarding the DTV visa between the two countries, leading to confusion for applicants.

Strange indeed because those countries have had visa fees waived for years now

No matter what consulate they apply at they don't pay for visas to thailand

I would imagine the DTV is included in it too

there was a special visa type arrangement for Singaporeans who wish to stay longer in Thailand , Thai Embassy in Sg has removed this type of visa from their website

there is an agreement for the 4 countries mentioned in the image grab I posted. They do NOT pay for visas to thailand at ANY thai consulate.

Singaporeans have gone to Vientiane/Savannakhet etc gotten year long multi-entry visas for free

(Filipinos can't get anything free other than a 30 day transit visa)

I see... Maybe other embassies would process, but I'll probably email them to confirm before heading out.

Thank you for your report...

There are other SE Asian countries in which you can apply for the DTV Visa.

Read the posts about getting the DVT visa from Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam on the forum.

Use the search ๐Ÿ” tool top of the forum page...

ENTER... DTV visa

CLICK..on it and all posts about getting the DVT visa will Pop Up to read.

IF you obtain further information about getting it in Singapore, please let us know.

Thanks again...

yes but that would require me to go out of Singapore to apply. In any case I'm not in a huge rush to get it at the moment
