We are waiting to get our 60 days visa approved through D.C. we leave in a week. Can we start our COEs? Can I put visa exempt and then have a visa when landing in Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is awaiting approval for a 60-day TR visa but is concerned about whether they can start their COE process, given their departure is in a week. Comments emphasize that obtaining a COE typically takes 7-15 days, and users suggest that they may need to delay their trip due to potential delays and changes in travel regulations. There is confusion regarding what to enter in the visa section of the COE application due to the pending TR visa approval.

Thank you all. But... my question was "what do I put on the COE in the visa section, if we applied for a TR visa and have not gotten word back yet." Can anyone answer that question?
I know... can I put visa exempt or do I have to wait?

Yes COE is issued prior, just start it and get registered. Once approved you need to book flights and Shaba + hotel who they issue you a code to log on and pay for Covid tests.
if you are getting a visa exemption medium stay put nothing in or fill out the visa application form and put that in to show that you are ready to process
we applied for the TR visa. The application says to post the confirmation of it. It won't allow me to no enter anything.

You need to plan at least 14 days for a COE application

Suggest you delay your trip until the changes being discussed in the rules of entry are adopted and final

If you leave in a week and have not started the COE, your might not be leaving in a week. COE from Washington is average 7-15 days. You might wanna call them repeatedly until you reach someone
it doesn't matter what you put. You need COE no matter how you plan to enter Thailand before November 1st. If you haven't started COE process yet, then you might need to plan for another departure. Even visa exempt (30 day) needs COE.
