Should I start applying for my Certificate of Entry (COE) now that my retirement visa is expected soon?

Our retirement visas should be approved early next week. Should I get started on our COE’s ASAP? We leave June 2nd so I don’t want to stress out and have to wait until just before we leave to get them.

Unrelated to your current question. I noticed you previously asked a US specific question. Something I have found beneficial is having a google voice number. If you dont have one of those, you maybe find it easier to do that before you leave. This will allow you make and receive calls from/to the US just like you normally would. Also, incase you didn't already know.. Thailand has no Twizzlers (the candy), you may want to stock up depending how long you intend to be here.

Welcome to Thailand. I am sure you will enjoy it.

From friends experiences, you can process your COE while you wait for your visa, and once it is released also the COE will be granted, apparently it does shorten the time a bit

My experience, with the Thai consulate in The Netherlands is that they issue the COE very fast. I applied in the night, got a rejection at 8 in the morning because something was missing, applied again, they accepted part 1 of the CEO within an hour, filled in the other things, and a couple of hours later I had my CEO. I don't believe that it can go faster.

really? The first thing I was asked to upload for my COE approval was my passport & visa 🤔

You need your visa before you start your COE online application. But if you have insurance, ASQ confirmation and flight details, COE issue, is very fast.

I would go ahead and send them in because you've got Memorial Day and who knows if there's any Thai holidays, the embassy in DC is closed for All American and Thai holidays.
