Can I get a spousal visa if my husband obtains a business visa while working in Thailand, and can I still work remotely for my US job?

Good morning from the US! I've used the search option, but wasn't able to find my answer after scrolling for quite a while. If my husband takes a teaching job and gets the business visa, I would be able to get the spousal visa correct? Would that prohibit me from my remote job w a business in the US?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If your husband secures a teaching job and obtains a business visa, it may allow you to apply for a spousal visa, subject to your husband's employer's approval. However, it's important to note that as a dependant on a Thai visa, you typically cannot work legally within Thailand. This means that while you can perform remote work for a business based in the US, it's advisable to avoid disclosing this situation publicly, as it resides in a legal gray area. Additionally, ensure your husband's teaching job is with a university to qualify for the Non-O dependant visa.

For a spousal visa to be available the teaching job has to be with a university. It can't be as an English teacher at a school.

You are able to get Non-o dependant visa based on your husbands non-b with endorsement from his employment.

This does not allow you to work in or from Thailand.

What you do in your bedroom is your business and don't discuss it on public forums.

If whichever company he's employed by agrees. And yes it doesn't allow you to work

well otherwise they have a quit so normally they should accept that.

Whether you could get the “dependant” visa will be up to your husbands company and your immigration office that you use. It could work. It may not.

As a dependent you can’t work in Thailand. If your job is purely remote in the US then it probably wouldn’t be an issue as you are not “working in Thailand”. A grey area for sure and perhaps legal advice would be the best way to ensure you aren’t breaching any laws whilst having a dependent visa/extension.
