Hello, guys! I have a question regarding dependent visa for spouse. I’m negotiating a teaching job and they will provide me a volunteer visa. I’m married and I was wondering if my husband can apply for a dependent visa in that situation, or if it only applies for work permits. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires whether a spouse can apply for a dependent visa while the asker is on a volunteer visa for a teaching job. It clarifies that for a volunteer position, a work permit is necessary along with a Non-Immigrant O visa, and the spouse can apply for a dependent visa based on the primary visa holder's status.

If you are negotiating a teaching job as volunteer you need a work permit as volunteer and the Non Immigrant O visa based on volunteer

If you are negotiation a paid job as teacher you need a work permit and the Non Immigrant B visa

If the volunteer organization approves they can provide documents for your partner to apply for the Non Immigrant O visa as dependent on you,
