Hello, I'm from Bangladesh. My future husband has accepted a job in Bangkok. His VISA will be arranged by the company. We intend to marry first and then move to Thailand together. I'd like to know if it's possible to receive a spouse visa with work permits and how long the visa will last. I have 4.5 years of experience working in the field of digital marketing. Is it possible to get a job in Bangkok that is relevant to my previous work experience? My future husband obtained his BSc and MBA in London. As a result, getting an international job is easier for him. But my schooling and employment are all from Bangladesh. Please advise me on what I should do next.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a prospective expatriate from Bangladesh seeking information about obtaining a spouse visa after marrying her fiancé, who will be moving to Bangkok for work. Key points include the process of acquiring a Non-O visa as a trailing spouse, which allows an initial stay of 3 months and may be extended for a year, but prohibits employment. It further highlights challenges in finding a digital marketing job in Thailand due to language requirements and the need for an independent work visa should she want to work.

Most jobs in digital marketing in Thailand require knowledge of the Thai language. Not all, but most do. You are also not allowed to work on a spouse visa. You will need to apply for your own (independent from your husband) work visa arranged by the company you are going to work for. Another option is to find a job in your home country that allows you to work remotely (in Thailand) and keep silent about that.

Great idea. It is the only way for you to become a trailing spouse

>I'd like to know if it's possible to receive a spouse visa with work permits and how long the visa will last

You will be granted a Non-O visa based on being a trailing spouse. This visa is valid for 3 months. Depending on the immigration office, you will go WITH your husband, and get a one year extension of stay based on being a trailing spouse to a foreigner. This extension of stay is employment prohibited.

I have no idea what digital marketing does. You will need to make minimum wage, which I think is 25K THB a month for people from your nationality. If you find a job, you will have to leave Thailand and return on a Non-B ("Employment") visa.

Good info. As a Digital Marketer you will face everybody and his dog claiming to be that. Some are good and most have a passing acquaintance with real marketing. Set up your own agency and get work outside of Thailand. Keep it quiet though.
