Another question: if I’m working legitimately in Thailand what are the options for my husband?
1)If he isn’t working is there a visa that means he can stay with me whilst I’m working?
2)would it be possible for him to get student visa to learn Thai whilst we are there?
3) how likely is it he will be able to get legitimate work that will qualify him for a work permit - I’d heard that it is pretty difficult and that the student route might be more realistic ?
Any advice much appreciated!
TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are working legitimately in Thailand, there are several visa options for your husband. First, he may qualify for a dependent visa, allowing him to stay with you if he is not working. Second, he can apply for a student visa to study the Thai language. Lastly, while it is generally challenging for expats to secure a work permit, focusing on a student visa could be a more viable route initially.
