What type of visa do I need in Thailand if I'm sponsored by my wife's employer and plan to work for an Australian company?

Hi Thai Visa Advice, I have a question. I will be coming to Thailand next month. My wife will be working at an International School in BKK. At this point I don't have a job and therefore will be sponsored under my wives employee. I am pitching a potential job to my current employee in Australia whereby I would be paid in AUD$ and travelling internationally frequently. What visa would I need? Could I stay sponsored under my wife?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual needs to know about the appropriate visa for working in Thailand while being sponsored by their wife's employer, who works at an International School. They are considering working remotely for an Australian company and are advised that to legally work in Thailand, they would require a Non-Immigrant B visa and a Work Permit, regardless of the currency of their salary.

You have the answer and I think it is time to close the commenting before discussion start. If it is a good idea to become an illegal worker inside Thailand based on others do it, so it is okay, is your choice, but you will face the consequences when things go wrong. Not the others or those who tell you it is okay. We can only advice what is needed conform the Thai rules and regulations.

If you are inside Thailand and need to work, it does not matter in what currency your salary is, you need a Work Permit and the Non Immigrant B visa.
