TLDR : Answer Summary
A user based in the UK is seeking advice on which visa to apply for in order to visit her husband working in Thailand. It's recommended that she check the Thai embassy's website for information on the Non-O (spouse) visa, but it's noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has complicated the visa process, potentially suspending many regular visa types. Community members suggest contacting the Thai embassy directly for the most accurate guidance.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

I think at the moment it's not easy. Try the Thai visa advice group if you don't get your answer here.

Think no change, but u must ask the local embassy they have the only good answer

Your first port of call is the Thai embassy. I'm not sure what it's official name is, but there IS a visa often called "trailing visa" which can be used by relatives of foreigners. HOWEVER, Mr Covid has screwed up the normal course of things and several visa types are suspended for the duration of the pandemic.

would this apply if I wanted to visit my daughter and her husband that live in Thailand ? Both are UK citizens that have been in Thailand 5 years.

I want to visit them. Long term I want to live out there with them.

Could you go for retirement visa?

@Greg *******
that's the plan , but can't at mo as the are not allowing UK retirees due to covid levels (that's my understanding)

probably, but at the moment the regular rules are suspended and what applies is VERY limited.

The non O (spouse) visa is for those married to a Thai citizen. The fact the husband has a work permit means he’s not Thai so she would need the Non O (dependant) visa.

In fact the family members of person having a work permit also fell into Non O spouse or in another word dependence visa category. Anyway visa application doesn’t identify type of Non immigrant. The consular will grant you what they see fit.

However, it will be matter once you need to extended in country which require

1. Valid visa and work permit of your husband

2. Original married certificate

3. Certify Letter from husband company

4. TM30

5. TM 7 and 2 attended form

6. Fee

If you go to Thai embassy web site it list the type of visa and how to contact them that’s a good starting point.

But others on site will give more specific advice.
