Hi everyone, I will go to immigration to do visa extension in bangkok tomorrow, in concern of Tm30 my landlord told me that he is working on it, but if he is not getting it approved in time, am I still be able to do my extension while do the TM30 myself at immigration?

If so will I need to pay the 800B fine myself?

Big thanks in advance

**

So immigration officer gave me some documents, said for the landlord, and I got my extension.

Is completely possible that is 4:30 pm they don't care to waste more time, since I think there are 50+ more after me.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing an issue with obtaining a TM30 receipt necessary for visa extension in Bangkok. While the landlord delays approval, the user wonders about the possibility of filing the TM30 independently at immigration. It turns out that a TM30 is indeed necessary for securing a full extension. Users suggest that even if the landlord does not provide the receipt on time, the user can file the TM30 personally, albeit incurring an 800 baht fine for late filing. The conversation highlights the importance of having complete documentation when dealing with Thai immigration.

and while posters from Phuket and Hua Hin might post what they experience you're NOT using the Bangkok Immigration office at the Chaengwattana Government Complex.

Each office does things differently.

I have used them with a 20 day overstay the first time and have a daughter and made the most sorries I could and everything worked out well.

I had the same problem in Phuket and I got a thai colleague to call and make them get it done. I would refuse the fine and give the landlord's phone number and address to immigration to settle it. The extension wasn't a problem at the time but perhaps your officer will be less forgiving....

took about 4 weeks to get username/password in Bangkok in May.

@Yoana ********
And to answer the other question they will just not their problem you could had been coming down to the immigration an done it
Zabel ******************
@Yoana ********
In Phuket it takes around -3-4 day's to get the username and temporary password

If you fill out the form for registration right you will get and email right away where you have to click on the link in the email to confirm and then then they will go around 3-4 day's before you get the username and temporary password

And the. Change the password and do the registration and it's done and you will be up running

@Zabel *****************
Well, you have tried over and over didn't you? It's not like you didn't care about it. I made screenshots of conversations with mine where I repeatedly asked for it over the course of 2 months...

@Yoana ********
It's not like to can refuse a fine hehe

It's in section 37 it's your duty to make sure to have TM 30

In section 38 it's the landlord anyway a fine is a fine no way around it

Always when you go in say sorry I dont undersand can you please help me. Forgive me I done understand...
Mike *****
I learned in Hua Hin if you do your 30-day extension you will automatically be registered. I hope that helps...

I took a Myanmar visa run and sat with the German owner that has been here for 2 years and this is what he told me to do and if work but we all know Thailand and everything changes. Sorry if I have given bad information.

@Mike ****
, I think you got your wires crossed :O

Here's the online TM30 program.

**********************************************
Tod *********
You APPLY to use the online TM30 system by entering your data and scanning documents from your land lord. Then they send you a confirmation email (which you confirm) then you wait for them to send you a user name and temporary password, THEN you go in change your password and can begin to register people at your address online
Mike *****
Tod I did it... That is what they told my Thai wife here...
Tod *********
that is NOT correct :/

I think I will just bite the 800B and getting it done, looks like the only proper solution I guess, thanks everyone.

@Bin ****
There are two ways you can file a TM30 at Chaengwattana

One is by using copies of the thai i/d, the house book and a power of attorney form (with 2 five baht tax stamps on it from your land lord stating you can file the TM30 on his behalf

OR

You use your lease only and YOU file the TM30 for yourself.

Either way you're going to get fined 800baht because you OR your landlord needed to file a TM30 (not apply to USE the system) within 24 hours of you taking up residence there.

Garrett Greenwald Sure will do

OKay, what it sounds like is your land lord is a goofball and has only REGISTERED to use the online system and not gotten his user name or password sent to him yet (That's because there are thousands of people waiting to get the same thing :O ).

Take a copy of your lease and you can file a TM30 without anything from your land lord (although you will be fined 800baht for not filing within 24 hours of moving into your apartment). BUT at least then you can get your whole ED extension rather than just the 30 day under consideration.
Tod *********
@Bin ****
, just so you're clear you WILL need a Tm30 receipt to get an extension on an ED visa at Chaengwattana. IF you don't have it all you will get is a 30 day "under consideration" stamp and get told GO file a Tm30, come back show that receipt and they'll give you the rest of your extension.

I can say with 100% accuracy that this is what is happening to people extending an ED visa at Chaengwattana in Section N out there.
Zabel ******************
I would ask your landlord to take a screenshot of that website it will say he waiting for approval or he could also call the number in the top of the site to speed it up
Zabel ******************
@Tod ********
Noted information is gold
Tod *********
@Zabel *****************
yeah, it wont. I had someone who knew that their land lord was already approved AND that knew they had already applied online BUT who didn't hve the screen shot of it and they were compelled to go hand file a new one and pay the 800baht fine.

So I can say with 100% accuracy just saying your land lord has a pending application to begin to use the system isn't gonna cut any ice with them
Zabel ******************
@Tod ********
It would maybe give and advance of understanding and the individual officer would might say ok
Tod *********
just because your land lord has a pending application to USE the online system it won't stop them from fining the person who needs the TM30 receipt for their extension.
