Is it possible to extend a visa (ED) with only a TM30 receipt? Some context; I need to extend in about 4 weeks. I live with my girlfriend who works at an international school. After landlords failing to file for us, we got the necessary documents and got the visa dept. at the school to file via post for us. However we just found out it can take up to a month and a half to be processed. I am worried that it won't be processed in time. Any advice welcomed

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether a TM30 receipt is sufficient for extending their ED visa, given the delays with their landlord's filing and the international school's processing of the TM30. Other community comments clarify that just having a TM30 receipt may not be enough, and that showing the filed TM30 registration is typically required by Immigration when applying for a visa extension.

if Immigration office where you apply want to see a filed TM30 Address registration you show them. Not a copy of a postal service.

My apologies, I phrased that poorly. I am well aware there are other documents and such needed. My language school will provide them. Of course I know the date also.

I'm talking specifically about the TM 30. The international school is filing the TM 30 via post, and says we can get a 'receipt' but it would take longer for it to be processed fully.

My question is, when extending my visa, specifically regarding the tm 30 only, will this 'receipt' be sufficient (given that all other documents are fine)

Thanks

thanks, didn't know this. Should be safe then.

they will not accept the "it's in the mail" excuse for a TM30 receipt. Most ED students who do not have a TM30 receipt only get a 30 day under consideration stamp, and are told to go file a TM30 then come back to get the rest of your extension after that.

The rest of our story does not make any sense to me. You need to extend in about 4 weeks, I hope you know the dates in your passport. That you have a girlfriend is nice for personal live but has nothing to do with visa rules, that she works is good. Your landlord failed to file for you, so you asked the visa dept at the school, doing yourself was impossible? You file a TM30 address registration and get the acknowledgement direct on return, who ever tells you it can take up a month and a half is total B.......

NO, You can not just walk into Immigration with your passport and an address in Thailand and apply for an Extension of Stay based on studying in Thailand..
