TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks a solution for obtaining a 30-day visa extension in Thailand despite difficulties with their Airbnb landlord in completing the TM30 form. Community responses suggest that users can handle the TM30 registration themselves with the landlord's ID and house book, or alternatively, check into a hotel that will comply with the registration process. Some comments note that Chiang Mai immigration may not strictly enforce TM30 registration for tourists on a 30-day visa exemption, and documentation needed for the extension includes the TM7 application form and passport copies.

This is true, I've done many extensions in Chiang Mai (most recently few days ago), they never ask for TM30 for tourists.

did you already try to go get your extension and they said you needed a TM.30? As I said in the earlier comment I don't believe they require it for 30 day extensions on visa exempt or tourist visa entries..
Robert *******
I guess not, he asked later what kind of documents are needed for an Extension of Stay.
Tod *********
I had heard reports that Chiang Mai was NOT enforcing the TM.30 forms for people on 30 day visa exempt or tourist visa entries
Duncan *******
Book a hotel for one night - use the one they do.
Robert *********
Landlord will not co-operate probably because he does not declareincome on tax

cheap hotel One night?
Robert *******
What is the problem? What visa do you have or are you on the Visa Exempt Entry?
Robert *******
Oh well, a visit to Immigration office and ask what is needed, in Chang Mai cross the street and make the copies, would have avoid the hard time he is having.

@Robert ******
yes, same here. I’ve never known Samui immigration want to see a TM30 registration just to extend a visa exempt by 30 days (I’m not saying it’s never happened). Just take your rental agreement and fill out a TM7.

TM 7 application form (you can get at Immigration Office), copy of ID page passport, copy of the Admitted to Stay stamp page in your passport, copy of the TM6 Departure card. 1 passport picture and 1.900 Thb.

If your landlord is not willing to do this TM30 or give you a copy of his ID card (front and back) and copy of his blue house book, both signed by him, there is not much you can do. Only option than is to check into a hotel, let them make the address registration, get a print out that it is done and than visit the Immigration Office for the Extension of Stay. As far as I know out of reports, Chang Mai Immigration did not ask for this address registration for Extensions of Stay if people had the Visa Exempt Entry.

on a visa exempt, and you want to extend, are you travelling or staying in the same place?

Depending where you are!

You can go fill in the (tr7 I think) and fill in the tm30 yourself, get a copy of your landlords 🆔 and blue book and take them with you.

Where in thailand are you?

You can take the lease and copy of Landlord’s ID to immigration and do it for him. They might fine him ฿1600 if he failed to complete the TM30 on time. IM will ask you for the money but the fine papers are in Landlord’s name. I did this and charged it back to the landlord on next rent day.
