TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking help in obtaining their STV (Special Tourist Visa) extension but cannot get their TM30 form from their Airbnb owner. Responses indicate that without a TM30 and other necessary documents, the extension is unlikely to be granted. Suggestions provided include contacting property management if staying in a condo, staying in a budget hotel for assistance, and clarifying that an agent may not help unless certain conditions are met. Additionally, there are costs involved with fines and potential complications arising from the lack of TM30.

Its the legal obligation of the AirB'n'B owner to register you

The worse thing that can happen is an 800 baht fine for not filing a TM30. An agent doesn't get out of bed for anything less than 3000 baht!

Nope. Just pay the fine and get the extention of stay.

. You still need to do one after the fine... it used to be not needed but does now. And they want it kept in your passport. Try getting an extension without one in Bkk. You won't. They'll send you off to get one first.

Once the fine is paid, Immigration do it for you, just give them your address.

. No tm30= no extension. Must have one, regardless of adress, before they accept an extension application.

Steven de Blaquiere. I should have said they'll fine you and make you do one to make it clearer

I had the same problem, if its a condo try the management, if not the id suggest renting a cheap hotel room for a night and getting it from them

You will need more than a tm30 to get your extension

You are *NOT* getting a 90 day extension of stay based on STV, unless you can show the following two documents:

- A pre-paid hotel booking AND;

- Tax ID number

The agent will not be able to help. The immigration offices are extremely strict with the STV extension of stays.

The Airbnb owner won't do it because he doesn't want to pay tax...

Technically, you can file your own TM.30

tm30 has nothing to do with tax. Staying at family and friends house, they can still do tm30s.

they can but if they report foreigners staying there it also increases the likelihood of it being found out they're running a business...especially an AirBnB which tends to have a higher turnover of guests compared to a condo.

Darren Grist. I've stayed at an Airbnb near my woman's home town who give her a good price if there's no receipt and totally don't want to see my passport, so you're spot on. Whether there's any link between immigration and the tax department I wouldn't know, but it seems the Thais don't even want to know!
