Gooday. I came from South Africa on the 16 November. On a tourist visa .My return ticket is 7 February.im staying in KhonKhaen. I'm planning to go next week Thursday on the 14 December for an extension. My question is. Can I go to immigration office in Khon Khaen. And is it possible to ask for an extension of 60 days seeing that I'm flying out on 7 February or must I do a border run in January. Please advise.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about extending their tourist visa while staying in Khon Kaen, Thailand. They arrived on a tourist visa and are planning to request an extension on 14 December but are unsure if they can get a 60-day extension or must perform a border run in January to accommodate their return flight on 7 February. Community responses indicate that only a 30-day extension is possible for a tourist visa, and a border run would be required to extend their stay further.
for a visa-exempt entry, you can only buy one 30-days extension for 1900.- THB. Before the 60 days are over, you will have to do a border run followed by another (!) visa-exempt entry which will give you 30 days stay permit, in order to get carried on to the 7h of February. I recommend doing it across a land border (Laos is relaxed if you are staying in this area). WARNING: don't try a border run by yourself across Poipet/Aranyaphrathet
