Just a quick question would I be able to get 2 extensions in one year with a tourist visa? I have a 60 day tourist visa so i extend it for 30 more ok. Then i go to laos 60 days and extend again 30 more total 180 days right. So can i extend in say kanchanaburi 30 days and then extend that too for 30 more giving me 240 days in total or is that not possible. Thank you all in advance for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of obtaining multiple extensions on a tourist visa in Thailand, specifically if they can extend their 60-day tourist visa for an additional 30 days, leave for Laos, and return to extend again, ultimately totaling up to 240 days. Responses from the community clarify that while extensions are possible, frequent border runs and multiple visas may raise concerns with Thai immigration, highlighting the importance of following rules to avoid complications.

I do not make the rules re Thai Immigration.

You already have been questioned upon an arrival by Thai Immigration.

And your admitted history goes back to 2018...and Laos too.

most likely you will be denied another Tourist Visa in Vientiane and Savannakhet.

Savannakhet

Tourist Visa, apply if you stayed less than 90 days in past 6 month (they count time spend under any visa), show own Thai Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from your Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket or Rental Contract not required.

Vientiane

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully. Vientiane is now asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket is not required, but prepare Rental Contract

If you are not doing any work or profession it will be the Thai Elite Visa, otherwise the Non Immigrant B visa and a Work Permit.

what would the correct visa be? I was not finger printed and last time i stayed only 90 days. I have not had a tourist visa from laos or anywhere outside thailand for 2 years now
Robert *******
I just explain the question, if he already played games with Immigration he knows that part of playing.

With your history you are definitely on the Thai Immigration radar. A new passport no longer tricks Thai Immigration. Upon arrival old and new are linked along with facial recognition software and fingerprints...they know all about you.

Time to get a correct visa for living in Thailand. Good Luck

i try:

Enter on a Tourist visa and get 60 days

Extension of Stay, 30 days plus makes 90 days

Go to Laos, new Tourist Visa, new 60 days makes 150 days

Extension of Stay, 30 days plus makes 180 days

Border run Kanchanaburi for 30 days Visa Exempt Entry makes 210 days

Extension of Stay, 30 days plus makes 240 days

OR

Get the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa before you make your way to Thailand. get you almost 250 days of stay

He's been warned before from immigration about being here too often on the wrong visas. I don't know if that plan will work.

Yes that is what i mean but can i buy 2 tourist visa outside thailand in 1 year?
Benjamin ******
Can you? Yes. But it's up to the consulate to decide and it's up to the Thai immigration officer to decide if they would let you in. Find the right visa please.

I am from the uk

Doesn't quite work Iike that :

1. Get a 60 day tourist visa.

2. Extend it by another 30 days.

3. Leave Thailand and purchase another 60 day tourist visa

4. Extend that tourist visa for another 30 days.

I don't know your nationally or prior history so I didn't know if that is possible

Edit: according to your history, you are from the UK with extensive visas here. I suggest taking James advice from the last post and talk to Amamarat of Thai Visa Service for more information
