Hi there, I arrived back to Chiang Mai today with a 60 day Tourist visa which takes me up to 15th February 2020. On arrival I enquired of immigration if I can pay to extend this to the 18th February when I exit the country. The immigration officer just fobbed me off and waved me through. Is it possible to extend for less than 30 days or should I just bite the bullet and do a 30 day extension or border run? I do not want to overstay and create future problems. Thanking you in anticipation

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether they can extend their 60-day Tourist visa for a shorter period than the typical 30 days. They were informed by an immigration officer upon their arrival that they could only apply for a 30-day extension or consider a border run. However, comments suggest it is possible to request a shorter extension if desired, but the fee remains the same.

You got a new stamp inside your passport on entry with a 60 days stay and an Admitted until date ../../.. You can apply for an Extension of Stay, this is maximum 30 days but if you want less you can always ask for less days but the price of 1.900 Thb stays the same. Not sure what kind of bullet you like to bite?

It isn't a 7 day extension. If your application for 30 day extension is denied you get 7 days to leave. It still costs you your application fee of 1900 baht.

many thanks, I suspected that the extension was a flat 30 days but someone told me that a 7 day extension was possible. As usual the advice here is quick and concise, I thank you sir.
