Hello guys again. I would like to have a question. Can someone tell me what kind of extensions are available in Khon Kaen? I am already overstaying since 27th. I am sitting deep in a problem and i can not go for a border bounce. It is possible to get an extension for example 2 weeks or so? I have to leave the country the next weekend and i will be no able to pay more then a week overstay.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about visa extension options in Khon Kaen due to an overstay situation. They mentioned the urgency to leave Thailand soon and asked if a short extension (e.g., two weeks) was possible. Community responses emphasized the importance of clarifying the type of visa held and the necessity to address the overstay promptly, warning about the associated fines.

there's no way around paying the 1000baht overstay fine you're on now when you apply for the 60 day extension which is 1900baht too.

The faster you go sort this out the better you'll be. Borrow the money if you have to because if you wait until you have 5k baht of overstay, you're not gonna get out of the country until you pay it.

- Just in case you need to go to Laos from Khon Kaen, you can take a train to Nong Khai for less than 100b and walk to the border from the station. If you need a Laos visa, change your baht to US$ first and you will pay $30-35 - considerably cheaper than 1500 and do the same on the way back

yes i see. the closest country is Laos so 1000thb overstay plus 1500thb visa on arrival plus traveling to there and back not a good solution. i will try to get some money for Friday and i will go to Khon Kaen for that 60 days extension

the solution offered out by Robert IS the work around. Go to the immigration office, pay the overstay and then immediately apply for a 60 day "visit family" extension.

Your only other option is to border bounce, paying the overstay fine at the border when you stamp out, BUT you'd most likely need a visa to get into a neighboring country and get to from the border so that can add up to more than the 1900baht for the extension.

Let's start with: What kind of Visa do you have, did you already applied for an Extension of Stay? Or did you have the Visa Exempt Entry and did you applied for the Extension of Stay?

Yep, and you don't have to leave next saturday. You can stay longer and have a little more time to sort out the problems.

i see the problem is like i said we got serious problem and our budget is limited. so if i wait until the next Saturday that will be 10 days(5000thb fine for overstay)and i will be not able to pay it. so only one solution stays pay the 1900thb for 60 days

Application fee for an Extension of Stay is 1.900 Thb, it does not matter if application gets denied and you get 7 days or they accept it and give you 1 year. Cost is the same.

No, on the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage there are only two Extensions of Stay possible. The 1 Year with financial requirements OR on each entry the 60 days without financial requirements.
