Hello. Probably somebody else already asked about this but I can't find the thread.
In Denmark I got a 60 day thai visa (+30).
I hear that the + 30 can be given without going out of the country just by going to the immigration.
Is it true?
And since probably I might need an extra 20 days.
Will I get 30 days if I walk at the Mae Sai borde( CR) or any other border?
I remember that at one point they were only giving 15 days if by foot.
Thank you in advance. ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending a 60-day Thai visa, which includes a 30-day extension, and seeks information on the possibility of applying for the extension at an immigration office as well as details on border runs to extend their stay further. Multiple commenters confirm that a 30-day extension can be granted at an immigration office for a fee and that border crossings into neighboring countries can provide additional visa days. They also discuss the current status of specific borders and the historical context of land entry visa rules.
If that's true, you got a single entry tourist visa online by the eVisa website before you came here and you were stamped in for 60 days when you arrived..
The Mai Sai/Tachileik border has been closed since april 2023 it was open a while but you can't bounce at it
Closest border for people in the north west of thailand to bounce at are two borders with Lao either Chiang Saen/SEZ (Special Economic Zone) or Chiang Khong/Huai Xai
They stopped giving 15 day by land entry back on Jan 1, 2017 and went to a 30 day stamp for land entry with a limit of TWO entries by land per calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
