I entered Thailand with 30 day visa exemption and then extended at Immigration for another 30 days, which expires on the 8th Aug. From this position, it possible to do a visa run e.g. through an agency, and get a 60 day tourist visa?
Or is a border run to get another 30 days my only option?
Thanks š

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of obtaining a 60-day tourist visa after extending their 30-day visa exemption in Thailand. Multiple responses suggested that both a visa run (which requires leaving Thailand and applying for the new visa at a Thai embassy abroad) and a border run (leaving and re-entering Thailand) are feasible options for extending their stay. However, it's important to note that repeating border runs may raise flags with immigration, and users advised considering longer trips abroad instead.
Liana Tieri once you leave and return itās the same as when u originally enteredā¦meaning u can go to immigration and apply for another 30 day extension. However if they see you are only gone for a day or two then you may have problems as itās only a matter of time before immigration sees ur leaving and coming right back. Remember I believe you can only stay in Thailand for 180 days total per year , can enter on land border only twice and air is unlimited I believe but you must always be on the correct visa ā¦meaning tourist , education , work etc. sooner or later things get noticed . Iām not 100 percent on the above info but Iām sure someone else here can confirm. If immigration suspects ur working and thatās the reason for ur border runs u will have a problem. If ur just looking to stay for 4 months then a border run and extension is fine but if ur planning longer than that sooner or later u will get noticed. Personally Iād rather fly and explore another country for a month and then returnā¦.instead of just going somewhere for a border run or a few days. Good luck
Been to da nang few days ago, I only stayed there for few hours and back to Thailand, everything was so smooth. And no one also asked for my return ticket
You donāt need an agency. Look on Agoda ( flights and hotels ). Trip is also good for cheap flights and find someplace that ur visa free to go and then come back In a few days. Usually Kuala Lumpur is cheap and a short 1.5 hr flight. Normally less than $100 return but ur booking short notice so will be more probably.
You would have to travel to Laos or Cambodia an apply at the embassy could take several days for a TV or just do a border bounce try Queen Vic on soi 6 they have a vip van to take you and bring you back
