I am looking to apply for 60 day tourist visa and enter thailand by mid of July. So once I am here if I want to extend for another 30 or 60 days will that be possible or should I do a visa run?
If visa run is the solution can I submit the exit ticket to another country instead of submitting a return ticket back home while submitting at thai consulate at my country.
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of extending a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand and whether they would need to do a visa run. Responses indicate that an extension for 30 days may be available based on nationality, and if extension is not possible, a visa run to another country would be necessary. Additionally, there are questions about whether an onward ticket to another country is acceptable instead of a return ticket when applying for a visa.
METV as Ellie mentioned is probably the better option to do. So much paperwork and high insurance requirement, health medical check, police check etc. go with the easier METV and take a plane trip out then back in instead of jumping though all the STV requirement hoops.
after a lot of thought METV is looking like a better option for me. So I guess I’ll take that and for every 60 days I’ll fly out to Cambodia or vietnam and come back
you can do 1 trip to immigration after the first 60 days for another 30 and then fly out and back to repeat. Then fly out and back in again before the final date written on your visa if you want a 3rd entry
, If you want, you can. It would give you 90 days upon entry. But be aware that you cannot apply for an extension on STV entry anymore under the current program.
ok. I’ll take an STV to enter. And if I want to extend then I’ll make a visa run by going to vietnam or Cambodia. For travel iterinary I plan to stay with my friend. So that should be enough I guess
, Another idea would be a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa. You will be stamped for 60 days every time you enter Thailand on METV. METV is valid for 6 months to enter Thailand.
If You can apply for 30 days tourism extension for your 60 days Tourist Entry Visa entry depends on your nationality. If you are from one of those countries, you don't have other choices than to leave the Kingdom.
In that case, you need to find the country where you can apply for a tourist visa again by yourself.
It depends on the Thai embassy/consulate where you applying for your tourist visa at if they accept a ticket for an onward trip to another country or only take a homeward-bound ticket. You need to ask the consulate you are applying at now.
