TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether there are trustworthy services available to check if an individual is on Thailand's blacklist for immigration due to overstay. Participants suggest contacting the Immigration Bureau directly for accurate information, noting difficulties in getting timely responses. Some mentioned paid services previously available, although reliability and current availability are questioned. The conversation highlights the need for clarity on visa regulations and the implications of being blacklisted.

and on that note, I believe that the O/P has enough information to make an educated decision.

We're done Good Luck to the O/P (y)

There are people who can offer a paid service, but there is always a doubt re the info they give. If you in Bangkok just take a copy of his/her passport (latest) and go down to Suan Plu, the IDC section are the guys who maintain the database.

Who? I still haven't received an answer to the original question. Is there a service that can assist in determining if a blacklist is legitimate?

The point if these threads is to make it searchable for anyone with similar questions in the future and instead I'm receiving answers that are unrelated or assuming.

He is blacklisted by the Royal Thai Immigration Bureau, here is the link with contact form to directly ask your question to them:

And to clarify. This blacklist paper he was given has his name incorrectly spelled and his passport number isn't correct. I know that it is up to the immigration officer to decide and I don't know if this was a quiet pass or just someone not doing there job that day

I've already tried directly contacting immigration and I haven't received anything back in 30 days. That's why I'm looking for a paid service

Is there a service available to check? That's the question. There are likely others with the same question so it would be helpful to have answers related

I'd say no matter what his paperwork says, he's black listed until the 3 years are up.

Look in his passport, search the day that left Thailand and count 3 years forward. After that day he can come back to Thailand.

You aren't answering the original question. I understand how to check his side. I want to know about the other side of the matter

That does not matter, you can not look into the old passport or just discuss when he left Thailand?

Correct. He did. However, I'm still wondering if there is a way to check if it was legitmate.

That means he "turned himself in" meaning he went to the airport or the border to leave thailand on his own. That's the only way to get a 3 year blacklisting. If he was caught inside the country it'd have been 10 years

It's not me, it's my husband. He got it for overstay, a while back but when he got his letter, it had his information incorrectly filled out (by immigration). I received a job offer but I won't accept unless he would be able to join me. I assumed it was a no-go until his time is up but then he showed me the paperwork and it's scrambled.

what exactly leads you to believe you are blacklisted.

As a rule you know when they're taking you to your flight to deport you that you're black listed.

If you're on a blacklist due to overstay in the past, you would be informed with a letter and a stamp in your passport.
