TLDR : Answer Summary
Having an overstay in Thailand does not automatically bar future entry, but the extent of the overstay and individual circumstances can influence the experience. Most users indicate that minor overstays (like a few days) have not deterred their ability to re-enter, although they acknowledged the requirement to pay fines. However, if the overstay is significant, it may lead to blacklisting for a period, ranging from one to ten years. It's vital to comply with immigration laws to avoid complications.

At this time the answer is NO. an overstay stamp in your passport does NOT impact your ability to enter the country in the least

I hear of many saying they forgot. Too many people do it as though it's a joke. Be responsible and keep within the rules,as not doing so also inadvertently affects others.

It effected every one. Last year the black list was introduced as you can see on the picture posted by

. If many people keep on breaking Immigration rules and regulations it is just a matter of time heavier fines and punishments will be put in place. Respect the laws of the country who welcomed you as their visitor.

Depends on the length of the overstay and how long you have been out of the country for.

Usually you can get in but don't be surprised if you get asked a few questions

We just went to immigration yesterday and paid our unintended overstay for 4 days. 500 baht each plus we extended our visa another month. It was easy enough but I'd do it as soon as possible.

I overstayed a few times in the past when I sometimes didn't have enough money for flights out and back again. It never affected me getting another visa or being granted entry to Thailand. However your experience may be different.

I see your from Kenya so I assume you apply in Kenya for a visa and cannot enter visa exempt? In that case, I wouldn't of thought a 4 day overstay will do you any favours.

it is 500 Thb a day with a maximum of 20.000 Thb. If the Police check your passport you go jail, court (who will fine you and blacklist you) and detention center if you make it to an airport with ticket out of the country and report yourself at Immigration it is just the fine.

If overstay is long enough you get on the blacklist and not allowed to enter Thailand for 1, 3, 5 or 10 years. Not effect much but you have to wait little longer before visiting again.
