TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the experiences and concerns related to overstaying a visa in Bangkok, specifically regarding potential problems with immigration when returning after paying fines. Participants mention that for overstays of less than 90 days, paying a fine of 500 baht per day typically suffices without future penalties, provided there's no pattern of repeated overstay. It is noted that leaving the country on the last day of the visa validity is acceptable, with no fines incurred for one day of overstay.

Personally, NO, but I have spoken to someone that had difficulties being approved for a visa via an Embassy due to repeated overstay stamps and those were relatively short overstays, but it showed a repeated pattern of "abuse"....
On an overstay of under 90 days (where you don't get banned) you should be able to just pay the 500 baht a day, get the overstay stamp and be on your way.
What problems are you alluding to experiencing when you return and equally important what visa are you returning on??
So that trip to Chiang Wattana is so much hassle you are willing to break the law and be potentially liable for two days, if you run into any police check, you wished you made the trip is all I am going to say.
I'm on a 60 day tourist visa that i got in Burma. it expires July 5 & id prob leave Jul 7. i probably come back with a 6 month visa single entry or multiple OR i do visa on arrival. i dunno I'm wondering if that overstay stamp will cause issues.. not sure what but wanting that info to decide what to do eg. getting other visas in the future etc
