Well, giving up on the long stay OA Visa because we can't get Emirates to sign the overseas insurance certificate. They said they're not allowed to. I've contacted three different emirates/aig offices, one in thailand, one in malaysia, and one in England. No success. So going to try to get a tourist visa, and then get an agent once over there to switch over to a retirement Visa. Not sure which tourist visa yet, trying to figure out which one might be the quickest..... I think there's a 45-day Visa and 90 day Visa?

My parents are 91 and 97 years old. I checked the website for Poe-Ma Insurance. Looks like they'll only cover up to age 70.

Yes. That's the same certificate. I think I got mine off one of the embassy sites.

Update: I made a phone call this morning to AIG in the UK, the underwriters for the Emirates insurance. The agent I spoke to was very nice and gave me an email address to send the documents to for signature. Keeping fingers crossed. Will let you all know the results.....

Thanks so much. Kind of in 'freak' mode right now. I guess, at the worst, we'll have to reschedule our flights. Ugh! It's just that we have to schedule workers to help us close up the house here in Maine the day we leave and schedule rides to the airport... ugh. OK, thanks.

Ugh! We are leaving Oct. 15th! Applying for Long Stay O-A visas. Do you know how long the stickerless system will take to process visas?
