Thought I would provide an update on the process etc, given I received my 60 day extension in what was a reasonably simple process.
Address of immigration office …
สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง VISA EXTENSION
082 941 4389
*************************************
Go to level 3, counter K. They close for lunch 12-1pm.
YOU NEED paper copies of the following :
- Paper copy of passport of face / number page
- Paper copy of passport page with visa stamp
- Paper copy of departure card
- TM7 FORM (they have paper copies at office and instructions on how to complete)
- One passport size photo.
They did not request to see my rental agreement or proof of where I stay, albeit I had a paper copy to show.
There is a photocopy shop on ground floor - 10 baht per page.
PLUS NEED TO SHOW THE FOLLOWING ACTUAL DOCUMENTS
- Passport
- Departure card
- And in my case APEC card
There was seemingly 200 people on 15 September and today 16 September, I reckon 60 people at 1pm.
From arriving, completing TM7, processing the extension, to collecting the updated passport, took approx 75 mins.
They actually STAMPED MY PASSPORT WITH 60 DAY EXTENSION ON THE SAME DAY AT THIS OFFICE - no ‘under consideration’ for myself OR return to this office. My 60 day extension was from the date my current visa expires (8 October) not from today 16 September.
Just clarification, can you confirm if the following is correct ….
If my application straight forward, they cancel my current visa stamp (expires 8 October) on the day I visit and stamp my passport with another 60 days from the date of my visit to Muang Thang
OR
If my application is not straight forward (for whatever reason) or they need time to review my application, they MAY give me a paper document saying ‘under consideration’ and I have to return to the Muang Thang office on a date they advise or on 8 October and they confirm if my application is accepted
Hi James. It was not impatience with the two questions. I did not see the automated message from my first post that moderators review and approve prior to the post going live. I only realised this when I saw the message quickly displayed on screen when I posted the 2nd. Apologies
