exactly, and thanks for replying. I understand the visa I have what I dont understans is why did the border control officer say I need a re entry permit?

yes, and I said I would be going to Nepal. Which was when the border control person said I would need a re entry permit before I leave. It is this that has confused me.

This is what my understanding was from the Thai embassy in London:

Multiple Entry Tourist Visa will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa. Travellers with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand not exceeding 60 days for each entry within the period of 6 months from the date of arrival in Thailand.
