That’s only if you entered Thailand with a visa, right? Person will travel to Thailand with visa exemption 30 days. He is married to a Thai wife and has property in Thailand. So he will try to stay longer if he can extend it at the immigration office in Phayao. He would like to stay 3 months. Applying for a visa here is no option because the waiting time is already 8 weeks now. They have been closing the 2 consulates in Belgium.

Perhaps I didn’t write it clearly because my native language is Dutch or Flemish.

Entering on a visa exempt, can you extend it longer than 30 days.

So from NO visa to a Tourist visa (30 days extension) and maybe later to a non-immigrant visa.

Is it true that you can get more days extention if your wife is from Thailand.

My friend has heard that if you have a Thai wife that it can be extended to 90 days and not 60. Is that true?

Thanks again. If I'd knew this ahead I wouldn't have rebooked everything already. I'm flying Dec. 4th, but I can only make an apppointment at the embassy after mid December. Now I'm coming 25 days instead of 40. Missing the Pattaya International Pigeon Racing though. My friend can use this information.

Thanks, how long does it take it to arrange this in Thailand, and where. I guess then you need to have rebooked the airplane as well.
