I might be wrong, but I think you need a valid identification. Doubt they will accept a foreign DL.

From what I have been hearing, including from immigration officers, the amnesty isn't actually extending your visa in any way at all.

The amnesty only waves overstay fines. So technically if your stamp runs out you are on overstay.

And it is difficult to get anything done from an overstay situation. Try to avoid that.

PS This is not a fact and could change at any time, but it is how I understand it.

In reality you are probably correct. Unless they did go to immigration and got an extension. I did in May.

But by now a moot point.

I think that only means that once you turn in your documents, they may request additional documents.

I do know. I also know that in the public opinion there is still the irrational fear of foreigners transmitting the virus. And they can track locations of foreigners easily and make a good public show out of it. Anyways my response was not about today, but about the requirements ever since the amnesty stuff started.

The last thing they would want with Covid is not knowing where foreigners are. So yes TM30 still required AFAIK.

AFAIK the Non-O doesn't need an insurance.
