Well... the immigration still call us "tourists", even if we stay some years already on retirement visa. As mentioned... if you have this pink-id card they say resident. But in this case it's more important, how the japanese immigration define "resident of thailand". I just quoted from the article... nothing else...

That's a good question... i guess you are a resident if you have at least this pink id-card, but i'm not sure what the japanese immigration think about that... I'm pretty sure the mean citizens or passport holders.
