Yes - I easily exceed the minimum requirements for banked money - it is just the flyer I picked up that has me confused - probably just the Thia-English used - I think it is a local flyer as it says the days and location where visa extension can be lodged (Chiang Rai, Mondays and Wednesdays). Last year was no problem with just money in the bank.
I live in Chiang Ria - if I leave Chiang Ria PROVINCE and stay in a hotel, (which hotel report your stay to Immigration, as they are supposed to), then I need to report to Chiang Ria Immigration when I return home. I was warned the first time I went to do my 90 day reporting because I had been to Bangkok and had not reported to Immigration when I returned to Chiang Ria, Since then, I have met a couple who stayed in Chiang Mia (for one night only) and didn't report when they returned to Chiang Ria and where fined, and last time I was in Immigration, there was a foreigner arguing because he went away at Christmas time and hadn't reported when he returned and was being fined. The rule seems to be that you can travel within your province of registration with no problem, but should report having been away and have returned. It is Thailand, and some Immigration offices are stricter than others......
