first of all I do not plan to I stay > 180 days so tax is not even an issue.

You can apply in person at your local Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate. It's important to note that for the DTV, you must apply from the country where your employment is based.

Another option is to apply through the Thailand e-Visa website. The eVisa application must be completed from the country where you can establish your presence.

I already made that decision 5 years ago. I live at south side of Pattaya ( Practumak- Jomtien) area so relatively quiet and close to the beach. I walk 2 mins to night market and 5 mins to beach. Transportation is easy and cheap ( Bolt, baht bus) .There is big shopping mall ( Central, terminal 21) , vibrant night life, and people from all over the world. For me its the best place
