I read on internet that I only get 30 days when I come to Thailand and can extend this with 30

when I check the internet I read that I can only have 30 days + extend for 30 days. And when I want 60 + 30 I need an single entree visa? Do you know more about this or have sources? Thank you for you’re answers!
