Hello,

I currently have a 60-day stamp that has been extended by 30 days, valid until February 7th. However, my girlfriend and I plan to travel to India from January 3rd to January 15th, and then return to Thailand from January 15th to January 30th to celebrate a holiday with friends.

Will we receive a new visa stamp upon re-entry, or are we allowed to leave and re-enter Thailand without issues?

After that, we plan to travel to New Zealand for a few weeks and then return to Thailand around mid-March for another three weeks. And leave the country to go to Vietnam.

Will this be a problem? Our nationalities are Dutch and British.

Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about leaving Thailand with a current visa stamp and returning after traveling to India. Community responses indicate that the user's existing stamp will be voided upon exit, but they are eligible for a new 60-day visa-exempt entry stamp when they return. However, since they are using visa-exempt entries with extensions, they should prepare for possible questions from Thai immigration upon their return, including documentation of their departure flight, accommodations for the first week, and sufficient cash.

Should be fine as it looks like normal tourist behaviour, not someone trying to live here.

Just to correct your terminology though you get visa exempts stamps, not a visa. Yes you will just be given new ones if you have no problems.

Your current stamp will be voided upon exit, you are eligible for another free 60 day visa exempt entry stamp upon return.

IF you had obtained the METV multiple entry tourist visa before you arrived into Thailand, you wouldn't have a problem with your plan.

However as you are using VISA EXEMPT ENTRY each time you enter Thailand with 30 day extensions, be prepared for questions from Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival.

Be sure to have proof of your flight ✈️ departing Thailand within the number of days you are STAMPED in for each arrival.

Along with the address of where you are staying, at least for the first week...

And 20,000 Thai baht in cash or foreign currency, to show if asked.

Otherwise, As Dutch and British passport holders, you should be okay with your travel plans.
