He has 2 passports and has to make this visa run as cheap as possible. Could he just cross a land border with the passport with the old non immigrant b visa and come back with his other passport? The other passport has his other last name and different nationality.

We are in Koh Tao. We were thinking he should go to Andaman Club as we usually do here on the island. But someone else commented earlier that this is not an option anymore, only to re enter on a valid visa. I can not see tha comment anymore though

My future boss set the WP procees in motion and it took quite some time to get all the paperwork. So had to leave the country and come back on a visa exemption until the papers were ready.
