I tried early this year, they made me come back 5 times with variys documents, then said no, you have to leave the country, come back and get a non o. The supervisor said they would not extend an OX as that was an MFA visa, and they do not extend them, you could leave the country and see if you can get another 5 years at an airport

I had an O-X visa when i went to immigration to see what evidence they wanted to see that i had spent the money in Thailand, they said i could not it had to say at 3 million for all the time, the interest rate is about 1.5%, i showed them the embassy print out, they said not our rules, also be aware the medical insurance i had to go with it was going up 30% a year. there are much better options

Yes leaving shortly, one thing this supervisor said was that the retirement visa, will change early next year and she did not think I would be able to get health insurance for an O-X visa, looks like they are going to kill it off with the coming changes

I am going through this now in Bangkok, they noticed last year when transferring my stamp to new passport that I had not been checking in yearly it took 5 hours while they checked the previous years bank and health insurance, lucky I took everything with me, and told me off for not doing the yearly checks even though they told ne when I first arrived just come back in 5 years and get second 5 year stamp, went back recently to do it, they said no, you need a new police record from you home country as well as original statements showing money came from Uk, etc etc, a helpful supervisor came to speak with me, said best leave country come back in 60 day exempt and apply non O

I should have also said. An O-X visa holder has to report yearly to immigration for your banked money and health insurance to be checked, this is probably what confused the IO
David ********
I have an O-X visa and have to do 90 day reports. The IO is wrong only the LTR visa let's you report once a year
