yea it’s still processing. It appears to be an issue with my specific embassy, I see a lot of people not getting their visas in time. Which actually happened to me before when I went on a tourist visa.

If you get it, no one is making you stay there if you don’t want to. But if you decide that you do want to stay, it will be nice to have to worry about visa for 5 years.

Same here. Consider the approximate processing time of your embassy. Also consider if the embassy had days off, such as Christmas. You may find that not that many *working* days have actually passed.
