I will be doing exactly this and book get an onward ticket the day before I leave. I already have a non-O visa, but I don’t want any hassle from the airlines.

There is no guarantee that the flight attendants at the departure airport know the rules of Thai visa and I just want peace of mind. To me, that is $16 well spent.

The same thing happens in every other group I know. A wedding photographers group, or a product group about a watch, or a group about free stuff for the asking… ;)
