Hey everyone,

I’m considering applying for a Thai Elite Visa (either Bronze or Gold) for a long-term stay in Thailand.

If the visa is approved and everything goes smoothly (including getting the membership card), is there a specific time frame to get the visa affixed after approval? Or can I get the visa affixed at any time as long as the membership is valid?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The timeframe for affixing a Thai Elite Visa after approval is generally flexible; you can affix it at any time as long as your membership is valid. Once your visa is approved, you will receive an approval letter, and the membership card will be issued after you arrive in Thailand. Although there is no strict deadline, it's essential to complete the process while your membership is active. For additional guidance, it's advisable to consult Thai immigration or dedicated expat forums.

While I cannot say for certain re the Elite visa, most Thai visas do have time limits. E.g., the LTR visa must be stamped within two months of BOI endorsement.

Speaking of the LTR visa, I recommend you take a look at it before committing to the Elite. Though it’s only good for ten years, it only costs 50k baht & is nearly maintenance-free.

Joseph Davis Hi, thanks for your comment.

I was researching and comparing DTV, LTR, and TPV (Thai Elite). Among the three, I find TPV somewhat suitable for my particular circumstances. It feels like a middle ground between DTV and LTR, minus the right to work part.

It’s basically just hunker down money and getting the visa at the airport, with annual renewals in Bangkok, similar to LTR (DTV requires renewal every six months).

I’m not too keen on meeting the requirements for DTV or LTR. I was tempted to go for the LTR via the wealthy global citizen scheme but fell short on one of the requirements - it feels like one needs to be "invested" to qualify for this scheme.

I really don’t understand why you ask here (and get lots of different and stupid answers) instead of asking Thai Immigration!

I don't know why you're giving even this comment.

I am researching my options, like everyone else. I am asking around, from this group, to another recommended group, to immigration, to legal firms.

It really doesn't hurt to ask. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I got the same reaction when I posted a question. Of course I have already visited the obvious places, now tell me real world. So much in Thailand differs completely from one to another. It’s why you join a discussion group I thought

Dave Anthony It's the reason why I asked this group. I figured there are other TPV holders who went through the same process.

Maybe there were post/comments who gave wrong answers, who knows? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Of course it doesn’t hurt, but you get so many different and wrong answers! Good luck!

You can affix it anytime after you payed etc , yoh will get an approval letter once approved. The membership card will come after yoh arrive in Thailand
