@Barry *****
640,000 Baht is a lot to pay to "avoid bureaucracy" which the DTV does anyway. I switched from non-O to avoid immigration and it does the job, and I'll keep the 640k in my pocket! I see the LTR conditions are being watered down too

Cost wise, Elite doesn't measure up! DTV is 10,000 baht for five years, Elite is 650,000 baht. Can't see the value in that!

Difference is the DTV is so easy to obtain LEGALLY. The subject ED visas were all f*ke agency visas. Huge difference

"Reputable Agent" is the biggest oxymoron in Thailand. All agents pay bribes to immigration officers, which immediately removes the "reputable" tag. You've been sucked in. It IS bs. Immigration has cancelled no DTVs, this is agency bs, because it's affecting their under the counter business

My number one reason for switching from non-O retirement visa to DTV was specifically to AVOID immigration. Having put up with their inconsistent condescending behaviour for years, I wanted out. Got no idea why people would throw themselves at their mercy when a simple bounce pulls it up
