Lonnie, I'm living in Chiang Mai on a non-O retirement visa. It's renewal date is October and I started my application for the LTR visa on the 24th of June. I presented my latest tax return and the other items required on application. So far I've been asked only for invoices relating to my health insurance which I bought for living here anyway. I'm also still sending to my bank each month the required 65k bath just in case I am refused the LTR. Should I be accepted, I'll ask for it to start when my current retirement visa expires.

Would be interested to know people's thoughts on completing the departure information for holders of Non-O retirement visas? I'm returning to my apartment in mid May and have flight booked but no idea when I'll be departing next. Just fill in a placeholder the day before the expiry of my current visa in October? Although I'll likely make several more sightseeing trips away before then.

The only drawback for some is the requirement to prove the income requirement.

LTR couldn't be easier. It's cheap, lasts two blocks of 5 years each and no need for an agent as you're dealing directly with the BOI.

If you can afford the elite visa, why not look at the LTR visa?
