I actually tried to just pay it. 2500 a person for 4 people. The home I rented, the owner apparently should have come and told them I was living here 3 days after arrival. She had no idea, Because she did not do so they told us she might get charged up to 8000 bhat fine. They wanted to have her go to the police station and write out affidavits first then bring her back to immigration office. She is a bit concerned so she decided not to go to get her affidavit stamped at the police station.
no they were very clear I would have to leave my passport. I speak Thai as I was born here. I told them I got copies of my passport. She said that is not the protocol.
thank you! I think after going down 3 times with different paperwork they wanted each time and the owner of the house verifying our stay. Because it is in their discretion, dragging my 75 year old mother in law, with my 4 year old, my husband and I down to the office every time just became unreasonable. We have thai friends that even canceled the day of work to try to discuss what they want. I have resorted to letting Bumrungrad do it. Thankfully someone on the message board gave me that idea. I didn’t realize they had a department that will handle these cases. They just called me back. The business office manager was not surprised about the $$ under the table. She did say that each person has different requirements, even when you take the list in. “Because it is in their discretion.”thanks again🙏🙏
no… we came in on December 9th. This will be our only request. What sad about this is I was born here and grew up here. Left for college at 21 😰 . They don’t make it easy 😓
we are not overstayed yet. She said that she will add 600 baht to each 30 day visa extension because she usually hold onto the passports for two weeks and then issued them. Our visa is up on the 6th , surgery on the 8th, plane leaves the 10th. She said that in order to get an extension today we have to pay an extra 600 but a visa. Since I am traveling with my family it’s four of us.
