Already fully insured with no limits still have to buy a worthless Thai policy. 400,000 baht inpatient? The whole thing is a joke, at my expense

I have to apply for the visa from the Los Angeles consul in US. They require a full year 0-A insurance policy to issue the visa. Travel dates are not taken under consideration you only have to provide a one way ticket to Thailand. Sometimes I do wish I was English.

The visa wont be issued without 1 year insurance pre-paid and fully documented

You won’t be stamped in for another year those days are over. You would have to plan your reentry to coincide with a new 1 year policy. I don’t know if it is possible? Just show a paper to IO air do you have to co-ordinate with the Thai embassy in your country.

Yep My 40K/400K out/in-patient O-A health insurance termination date is even hand noted on the visa sticker. I recently re-entered and was given less than 6 month permission to stay.
