Just curious,

Why wouldn't you just apply for a chinese visa HERE in thailand thru the chinese visa center in Bangkok rather than slogging all the way to hong kong to do it?

I pulled Chinese visa from Bangkok. If memory serves, it was just a couple of days. No hassles.

Expedite means next business day. Dropped off today pick up Monday afternoon. $$ but easy.

Of course it is Chinese New Year, nobody home anywhere to answer calls. I am going to Sapporo but assume one can't apply there without legal residence?
