She can’t do anything about it. If you want the car, keep paying and you will hve no problems. If payments are not made, she is liable. This is possibly the first time I have heard of a Farrang having a Thai by the short and curlies. Well played 😂

you should follow the Thaigar on Facebook or YouTube. It’s Thai news in English and always has latest announcements.

I also added a link for embassy notice about visa exemption. Read info on there, tells you everything.

that’s what it works out as... statement showing 700 a month if you’re single and 1500 a month if you’re a family. As per the link just posted.

Also, once you’re in Thailand, there’s all sorts of ways to stay longer... Volunteer visas, education visas, that you can get for 1 year extensions... approx 35,000 baht.

for family, you need to show $1500 for every 30 days you’re in Thailand... so $4500 for the 90 days.

they scrapped the original 500,000 baht in savings that you needed to show for 6 months of bank statements. You now need the equivalent of $30 (£25 or 1000 baht) for everyday you plan to stay so... 90x$30= $2700... about 90,000 baht. Pretty reasonable I think... You can renew that visa at a Thai immigration office in country, twice, for a total of 270 days in Thailand but I’m not sure if they keep checking your available funds.

where are you? London Thai Embassy don’t make those requirements! And that goes for US and European embassies as well! Yea COE is needed as well as a clear Covid test, 72 hours before departure. The Visa exemption should show up on embassy websites within this next week. It was announced couple of days ago and is already showing up on many embassy websites. Always takes a few days for updates to get everywhere. If I were you, I would challenge that 200,000 requirement. If you need, I can find you the tourist visa official announcement, so you can send that to your embassy and challenge them.

“Visa Exemption”, has literally just been announced. You know, how we used to hve the 30 days on arrival, now it’s 45, to account for the quarantine. You’re best bet is the 60 Tourist visa with no financial requirements, as this can also be extended for 30 days if you decide to stay longer.
