TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks recommendations for the best health insurance for a healthy 71-year-old expat in Thailand. Several respondents suggest various providers like CIGNA and WRLife, emphasizing the importance of opting for policies from home countries due to pre-existing condition clauses. Other participants share experiences and details about their policies, including costs and deductible options, and resources for comparing plans.

From what I hear preconditions do not apply for Thai health insurance. I do know my Thai wife took out dead insurance three months before she died and my thai daughter made out like a bandit one month later.

Have a look on Checkdi (Was Mr Prakan)for all your Thailand insurance requirements

You can compare policies and prices in it from the leading providers

Try WRLife there is no age limit on joining the scheme and reasonable priced premiums.

I did mine through CIGNA. Took their gold package which came to USD 4,656 per year.

I was advised to only take out a policy issued from your home country. A claim may be refused if the insurer can establish that you had a pre-existing condition, whether diagnosed or not.
