We are a married couple returning to Thailand on a Non A-O visa (retirement) and Non O visa (dependent) in a few months, I understand we need 12 months insurance, but can this be insurance from any country provided it covers the requirements or does it need to be a Thai insurance company? The embassy sent me a link longstay.tgia.org but this is only Thai companies, also any recommendations are appreciated, thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
A married couple returning to Thailand on a Non A-O (retirement) visa and a Non O (dependent) visa inquired about health insurance requirements. They asked if insurance from any country is acceptable as long as it meets the necessary requirements, or if it must be from a Thai insurance company. Comments indicated that foreign insurance can be used if it meets the requirements and proper documentation is submitted. A specific form needed for foreign insurance was also mentioned, alongside a question about whether Medicare insurance combined with Medigap would meet the requirements.
