TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the potential for a foreign spouse to be covered under the Thai government's health insurance after marrying a Thai citizen. The poster is seeking confirmation from others about their experiences with being covered as a spouse of a Thai government employee and mentions plans to obtain a marriage visa by having the marriage certificate stamped at the Thai embassy. Comments indicate varying levels of coverage, with some saying that while the insurance may not be comprehensive, it is better than having no insurance at all.

I was married to a Thai government nurse. I was entitled to free treatment in public hospitals, with private room with ensuite.

As you are married to an ex government employee , once the marriage is registered and you are issued with a pink Thai ID card you are covered by the universal health in government hospitals ( If I remember correctly its a max charge of 45b for treatment and medication) You wife will have to check with your local hospital to ensure your registered. I'm married to a former government teacher and have this coverage.

To give you a good clear answer you need a little more information they're basically three types of government health insurance and then private insurance as a spouse yes on several you are covered some you're not
