What options are available for medical insurance coverage for an 85-year-old in Thailand?

My mother is in Thailand at present, she thought her platinum credit card covered her for travel insurance but it doesnt, anyone know if she can at least get a medical cover whilst she is over there?

She is 85 from UK and I have tried to get her cover from UK but can’t find anything as most companies only cover already travelled if below the age of 74!

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice for her 85-year-old mother currently in Thailand who needs medical insurance, as her credit card does not provide coverage. Several commenters suggest potential providers including AIG, AXA, EXPAT & Travel Health Insurance, and Allianz ACS. They provide information about insurance plans available even for those already in Thailand. However, a persistent concern is raised regarding the age limit of these plans, prompting a discussion about the difficulty of finding insurance for seniors over 85.

the insurance you offered up to her is for people up to age 66. The person requiring insurance was 66… but back in around 2004.

If you have a lock on your keyboard please lock it so you can not type anymore 🔧🔧🔧

I can be a knucklehead and am forgetful at times when it comes to things like this for myself. I empathize with you, and only made that "note" to myself, and others here, regarding our own planning for ourselves. I hope you understand it was not a criticism of you. I had years of doing "damage control" whilst following up on my own elderly parents when they were still alive. I wish a very happy, healthy, and long life for your Mom 🙏
