I have a few questions about obtaining a DTV "workcation" visa, any help/info welcome! (background: I have been living in Thailand learning Thai with an ED visa but am looking to transition to a more long-term visa once my ED visa has maxed out)
1. Do I need to have 500k TB in the bank for 3mo or 6mo before applying?
2. Can I have proof of the USD equivalent (~$16k) in an American bank, or must I have a Thai bank account?
3. Is there a minimum salary required to be approved for a workcation visa? (I currently make ~$23k annually, which is enough to support me in Thailand)
Does the DTV visa once approved specify if it is DTV workcation or DTV Thai soft power? If just general then I assume to apply for for soft power activity now eg. MuayThai one can transition to workcation later at a time of their choosing without having to amend anything? The visa is one in the same right? My understanding is that there is just the different methods to apply to get it approved.
I am intending to apply at Jakarta in person. The soft power approach seems the simplest in terms of documents required but I wonder what the risk is of them issuing an ED visa instead?
I am currently finishing my first year ED (Thai language) visa so have been on a career break this past year. I am also thinking to bring extra documents to support application (local Thai police background check to confirm no criminal history & letter from landlord confirming residency).
I'm interested to hear anyone's insight or advice 🙏🏻
Hello. So I am currently on an Ed visa and changing to a marriage visa. I have all my paperwork except the house we are currently renting a blue book and copy of owners ID. We rent through a management company and they are stating they cannot get me either of them… not sure why.
Anything I can do to remedy this? Or my agent can do etc? I thought they had to provide that information.
